GDOT Statewide Truck Lanes Needs Identification Study

The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) has explored the feasibility of implementing Truck Only Lanes on sections of  interstate and other limited-access highways across the state. The Statewide Truck Lanes Needs Identification Study identified specific locations where Truck Only Lanes can be used to decrease congestion and improve safety for all types of traffic.

Final documentation is currently available. Two rounds of public meetings have been held to present information and discuss Study findings. Input from business, government, planning organizations, the trucking/freight industry and the public have helped to shape the study's recommendations.
